Description

Make once, use all week! This easy Instant Pot rice is fluffy, flavorful, and feeds a family of six with minimal effort. Rinse the rice, mix in simple spices, pressure cook for 6 minutes, and you’ve got a versatile base for meals or a reliable side for dinners. Perfect with roasted or steamed vegetables and your favorite protein—meal prep has never been this easy.

Ingredients

  • 30 oz rice (basmati, jasmine, long-grain, or whatever you have on hand) – rinsed

  • 8 cups water

  • 2 tbsp salt

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 50 g butter

Instructions

Step 1: Rinse the rice

Rinse 30 oz of rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear. This removes excess starch and keeps the rice fluffy instead of sticky.

Step 2: Combine in the Instant Pot

Add the rinsed rice, 8 cups of water, and the rest of the ingredients to your Instant Pot. Gently stir to combine.

Step 3: Pressure cook

Close the lid, set the valve to “sealing,” and pressure cook on high for 6 minutes. Make sure “keep warm” is turned off so it doesn’t overcook.

Step 4: Instant release

As soon as the cooking time is up, carefully perform an instant release so the rice doesn’t overcook. Fluff and mix it up with a wooden spoon.

Step 5: Serve or store

Serve immediately as a side, or store in the fridge to use as a base for meals throughout the week.
