These salmon patties are a great use of canned salmon. I like to buy the 6 pack cans of the wild caught salmon from Costco to make sure we are getting the benefits of eating salmon every once in a while.
This recipe uses just 6 simple ingredients: canned salmon, onion, garlic, salt, eggs, and a little bit of flour. It takes about 5 minutes to prep and then only about 10 min to pan fry.
Ingredients
- 4- 6 oz cans salmon
- 1 onion (1 tsp onion powder)
- 4 eggs lightly beaten
- 4 tbsp all purpose flour sub gluten free flour if necessary
- 3 cloves garlic (1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 3/4 tsp salt
This recipe yields about 12 Salmon Patties. Each patty is about 78 calories and 2.4g fat, 3.2 carbs, and 11g of protein.
Instructions
- First, open all of your cans of salmon and drain them
- Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and lightly beat them.
- Add all of the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix with a fork or spatula
- Preheat a frying pan and add cooking oil. I use ghee.
- Form the mixture into 3 inch diameter x 1/2″ thick patties. I wear gloves and use my hands to form them.
- Pan fry on each side for about 5 minutes or until browned on each side.
Serving Suggestions
I like to serve these with a side of steamed or roasted vegetables and some buttery bone broth white rice that I make in large batches to have on hand for a quick side throughout the week.
